Frequency Measure – Anita Sarkeesian’s Strengths and Weaknesses

I’ve been on the lookout for intelligent responses to Tropes vs. Women in Gaming–ones in which Anita Sarkeesian is not threatened sexually or violently or both or called an authoritarian douche-nozzle–and here is an excellent example! I’m really glad about this, as I’ve had the feeling that there was something off about TvW but didn’t want to suggest that I sided with GamerGaters* or diminish the significance of the series’ more solid points. Philip Wythe here shows what an even and thoughtful criticism of the series should look like.

*Whatever this means. My understanding is that it’s the dudes who say “Yeah ethics in videogame journalism is important and all, but I also really hate women.”
